RosterWhiz is developed by Contact Management Associates (SA) Pty Ltd (CMA), an Australian company based in Adelaide, South Australia.
CMA was formed in January 1993 to undertake software development and management of a contact centre on behalf of a major Australian bank. Since that time CMA has undertaken numerous software projects as well as diversifying into retail and the operation of loyalty programmes.
Through its retail division a need was identified to streamline the employee rostering process. Most employees were university students whose availability frequently changed and this made roster scheduling and maintenance time consuming and difficult to manage. It was important to find a way to easily enable employees to manage their own availability and at the same time optimize rosters and deal with last minute availability changes.
RosterWhiz was born in 2007 as an in-house partially-automated solution. Since then RosterWhiz has developed into a comprehensive automatic rostering solution, with the latest hosted update of RosterWhiz due for release soon.
